We’d love to have you on the team!
New members aged 15 and over can begin with the Bronze Medallion.
Ages 13-15 can do the Surf Rescue Certificate.
Not a strong swimmer? You can help as a First Aider or Radio Operator too.
Beyond Bronze and Surf Rescue, we offer Spinal Management, IRB qualifications, Training Officer awards, and more.

Yes. All active members are encouraged to patrol. Holding at least a Radio Operators Certificate is required, but most members hold a Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion.
Patrols run every weekend and public holiday from late November to April. Lifeguards cover weekdays during the busy summer period.
Attend all your rostered patrols.
If you cannot make it, arrange a replacement and inform your Patrol Captain.
Arrive 15 minutes early to help prepare for setup, and usually stay 5-10 minutes after patrol to debrief.
Wear club bathers or red bathers under your uniform.
If you’re 18 or over and involved with minors in any club activity like patrolling, fundraising, or Nippers, you must have a
current WWCC. Provide your application receipt and WWCC card number to the club.
You need 16 hours per year to qualify for
Lifesaving Sports. Active Reserves need 8 hours.
Hours reset every season.
Active patrolling members can use the bunkhouse on patrol weekends or when helping with club activities. Members under 18 must submit a completed bunkhouse form before staying overnight.
